My passion for software engineering enables me to craft and deliver experiences that empower others. My goal is to change people’s lives with non-traditional, but practical, experiences on the web.
As one of the first team members on the front-end team, I worked with design and product to deliver high value features to our clients. To ensure that we were able to scale, I helped establish a component library and a style guide with our design team. As we grew, I was responsible for hiring and onboarding new members of the front-end team.
In this position I collaborated with product owners, a project manager and designer with ten software engineers on a research project to help instructors build courses. As a fullstack engineer I worked heavily in EmberJS, EmberData, Ruby and Postgres. We utilized test driven development to effectively deliver requirements on one-week iteration cycles.
I lead the development of a SASS based web architecture with a remote team; utilizing MongoDB, Express, Angular and NodeJS. I delivered a frontend architecture that worked with JSON based API’s. In collaboration with a backend developer, we delivered a platform that allowed users to interact with their favorite brands.
During my tenure at Sapient I helped integrate standard practices on the RAM Trucks brand website alongside a collaborative team of developers, designers and project managers. I helped define and integrate compliant markup, styling and scripts using current programming methods in JavaScript; including OOP and MVC practices with jQuery, UnderscoreJS and BackboneJS.
